Auli is a quiet snow-clad town, in the valleys of the Himalayan range.
In this town, all over you will see Apple orchards, Oak, and pine trees with their eye-pleasing beauty and panoramic view of the famous mountains like Nanda Devi and Mana Parvat.
Auli is in the Chamoli district of Uttrakhand state, and it is popularly known as the Skiing capital of India. The snow-topped rocky slopes are ideal for both beginners and professional skiers.
Auli is developed by the Tourism Authority of State Government of Uttrakhand as a skiing destination. And they are very successful in conducting competitions and tournaments here that have resulted in the vast popularity of this hill station both domestically as well as Internationally.
A mix of government and private resort are present in this town. They provide a comfortable and luxurious stay to the visitors and to the participants who visit the town in the spine chilling winters of India from November to February.
Apart from promoting itself as a skiing destination in India. Auli is also known to have one of the highest species of flowers found in the world. It has approx 520 plants, in which the majority of them are endangered species and grown here in the months between June to October.
Auli is also getting its name listed in the bucket list of trekkers, with numerous spots nearby, this hill station serves as a base camp. Due to its peace and calmness, a year-round, it can also be termed as the Maldives in Hills.
Auli is a Favorite destination for 10 months in a year and, it is not advisable to visit in the monsoon season of July and August.

It is one of the Worlds highest manmade lakes, settled between the breath-taking views of mountains, it serves as a perfect place to spend some quiet time strolling around it.
Also known as Gondola locally. This is one of the major attractions in Auli, as it offers an aerial view of the slopes.
This cable car is one of the longest ropeways in Asia. It covers a distance of 4KM and connects Auli with Joshimath.
You can enjoy this rope-way round trip in INR 1000.
Auli Chair Lift
Even a daring adventure lover will spike an eerie in him after having an experience of this lift. Unlike the Gondola, this one is open and gives access to reach skiing slopes near the Auli Artificial Lake.
This lift charges INR 500 for a round trip.
3Km of trekking from Auli, this place is popular as a trekking and camping site. GORSON transforms from lush green field in summer to a white powdery land in winters.
Tip – it is advisable to visit this place in the morning and return before sunset as there are no accommodation options available.
